You may experience it in the most varied ways during a winter vacation: Winter hiking, cross-country skiing, tobogganing and, above all, skiing on perfectly groomed slopes in the countless ski areas in the immediate vicinity – or simply make yourself cosy in front of our fireplace. Thanks to our great location, you may reach our ski areas, the festive Christmas markets, or the adventure pool with spa area in Bressanone in no time.
Skiing at its best
Winter sports: For you, that’s skiing without limits? Welcome to the ski paradise South Tyrol! Starting from our hotel in Aica you may easily reach a great selection of ski areas. Right in Bressanone, the ski area Mount Plose offers great fun on the slopes of all levels of difficulty – including the longest downhill slope in South Tyrol. It is best to leave your car at our hotel and take the ski bus. Nearby, you will also find the large ski area Gitschberg / Val Giovo – two ski mountains with a thousand possibilities and panoramic views of no less than 500 peaks of the Dolomites. The ski areas Monte Cavallo and Racines are somewhat smaller and offer a cosier winter sports experience. And of course, there’s the ski resort Plan de Corones – South Tyrol’s #1 ski mountain with more than 200 km of splendid slopes. If you look for and love variety, you may visit and explore a different ski area every day during your winter vacation!
Tobogganing in splendid surroundings
Let’s go tobogganing! With your partner or with the entire family: Speedy fun is guaranteed when you discover one of our over 40 natural toboggan runs in the Isarco Valley. The absolute highlight is the RudiRun toboggan run down the slope from Mount Plose Val Croce to S. Andrea – with 10 km, it is the longest toboggan run in South Tyrol. But even our shorter toboggan runs offer great fun and await you with their many advantages and scenic impressions. You may even experience a toboggan ride under the full moon or floodlight!
Relax with cross-country skiing
Why not dive into the snow-covered winter landscape of the Isarco Valley away from the hustle and bustle of the ski slopes and become one with nature? Cross-country skiing is like an active meditation, where we experience the merging of body, mind, and environment. You’ll find ample opportunity on the well-groomed cross-country skiing trails in our region, for example, the trail from the car park Hinterafers to Passo delle Erbe near Bressanone. The side valleys of the Isarco Valley are particularly famous for their beautiful trails at the foot of the Dolomites. From Aica you may easily reach the cross-country trails in Val di Vizze, in the ski area Racines, in Valles or the circular trail across the Rodengo Alp.
The festive Christmas Markets in the Isarco Valley
Visit us during the Advent season. You may experience the heavenly magic of Christmas in the Isarco Valley during your winter vacation. In many towns and villages there are charming alpine Christmas Markets that are absolutely worth seeing. But the most beautiful of all is the one on the central square in Bressanone. You’ll be mesmerised and enchanted by the romantic ambiance. Stalls and booths with South Tyrolean handicrafts, specialties to snack on and a truly festive atmosphere in front of a baroque backdrop await you.
Spa pleasures during your winter holidays
In the summer, our hotel with swimming pool in the garden is available to you at any time. But even if you visit us in South Tyrol for winter sports, you do not have to do without water fun. You may round off a wonderful day on the slopes in one of our wellness oases in the Isarco Valley. In the nearby city of Bressanone, the adventure pool Acquarena offers you indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a sauna world, a spa area, and an excellent culinary experience. And in Vipiteno – a city that is easily accessible from our hotel in Aica – there is the wonderful adventure pool Balneum.
